I founded Assort Health because this is the number one problem affecting American healthcare today. I saw firsthand how overwhelmed and outdated healthcare call centers were during my time as a hospital volunteer growing up, starting off as biomedical engineering/premed at Duke and later as a Head of Product Engineering at a $6.5 billion health tech AI company. After the pandemic, staff turnover in healthcare call centers reached 30–45%, leaving overwhelmed teams to handle surges in call volumes, up to 250% higher on busy days. Even though we have more digital tools, 88% of appointments are still booked by phone. And over a trillion dollars is spent on spend administrative tasks like this year annually2.
